Created by the architect Bruni Sacchi in the fifties of the last Century, the ex-Cinema Ariston was the first cinema complex to be renovated to host two screening rooms. Affected by the crisis, on the 19th of April 2007, it was permanently closed. The building becomes extremely relevant in the recovery plan embraced by Pisa’s Council, which aims for the urban regeneration of the district. The plan involves the realization of apartments and parking lots with a significant reduction of the constructed volumetry, taking into account the visual perception’s improvement, the relation’s built-up area, and the recovery and improvement of green areas.
